By day he was a politician and philanthropist, and by night he was a negatively colored mob boss. After being exposed to the same demonically created synthetic drug which once empowered Cloak and Dagger in 1982's Spectacular Spider-Man #64 (seriously), Martin Li developed two personalities. Center (a charity to aid the homeless once founded by Li). Since it has been a while, Martin essentially summarizes his life and times to May Parker at the F.E.A.S.T. Not only has he made continued major comic book appearances for over 13 years since, but he's even made the leap into video games and some cartoons! I think the only other newer villain who could claim the same is Screwball, if only because she was an innovator of live streaming. Created by Dan Slott and Phil Jimenez in Free Comic Book Day: ASM 2007, he is one of the only new villains created in the Brand New Day era who has had any sort of sticking power. However, that aforementioned boss is currently trapped within his mild mannered alter ego, Martin Li. When the Inner Demons appear, their boss isn't far behind. He is eager to vent his frustrations at a formless enemy, and the masked minions are a good target. And Peter was personally slain and resurrected at least a dozen times by Harry. The Kingpin and Norman Osborn have made an unholy alliance. His small army of distaff counterparts were all imperiled and briefly magically possessed. His former "best friend" Harry Osborn is now an insane demon named Kindred. Many of his dead loved ones were dug up and placed before him. It's a fair reaction to all of the harrowing crap which happened to him during that crossover. The events of Last Rites have clearly traumatized Peter Parker. The only difference is that his current opponents are a horde of Inner Demons - the masked and electric-sword-carrying minions of one of the web-slinger's newer enemies, Mister Negative! Yet it begins with a ragged Spider-Man standing his ground and offering a summary of his recent affairs with Kindred and Norman Osborn. Every issue has ended with a "to be continued." That said, this issue sees the start of an arc with different wording and it does seem like everyone got a night's sleep. The general narrative of Amazing Spider-Man has flowed from one issue to the next without a pause since July. This time, one of the only villains from Brand New Day to have staying power returns once more! The ramifications from Last Rites continue to play out one agonizing detail at a time.
